As a nurse practitioner, Dr. Randolph prescribes mental health medications, including medications for Attention Deficit Disorder. Other services available are psychotherapy, marriage counseling, family relationships, parenting issues, ADHD counseling, and adjunctive medication back up for other mental health providers.

Her initial training was at University of Florida including Pediatrics and Public Health. She received a B.S. degree in Nursing (1968), worked for several years in hospital positions then entered the Child Psychiatric Nursing Master’s program at Boston University. This training provided a valuable child development foundation for becoming a psychodynamic psychotherapist. With her Master’s degree she joined a community child guidance practice becoming one of first independent nurse practitioners in the country.

Reentering academia, Dr. Randolph earned her doctorial degree in 1979. Those years included teaching nursing students in the old Bellevue Hospital psychiatric wards, resembling medieval cavernous spaces. The patient care seemed medieval too. Strengthened in her belief that prevention, early intervention, and client education, were badly needed in psychiatric care, her doctoral research explored meditation. Alternative health care was gaining scientific credibility with Hans Selye's and Herbert Benson’s documentation of the “Stress Response”.

Within months of moving to Portland, Oregon she and her family were surprised as Mount St. Helen erupted. Even with this dramatic start, Oregon has proven a good match for her skills. Dr. Randolph has authored several children’s books, an educational video, served as President of the Board for the Northwest Center for Psychoanalysis, obtained medication privileges, and taught at the Washington State University, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program.

Her practice is located in Tigard, OR. Approximately half of her clients have Attention Deficit neurology. To stay current in a rapidly growing field. Dr. Randolph attends continuing education programs several times a month. All in all, she feels very fortunate to live in such a special city and assist clients as they achieve their goals.
